Gretna Hall Blacksmiths in Gretna Green
Do you wish to be married in a unique location?
Dating back to 1710, this historic courtyard provides a unique and charming location for those looking for a truly memorable wedding.
A legal, Christian service can be performed for you by a Minister in one of the traditional rooms surrounding the Courtyard all with original features of the period.
The Kissing Gate - an unusual photographic opportunity is on hand in the Courtyard itself. The 'Kissing Gate' in front of the Blacksmith's Shop is a perfect place to capture the special day on film and is of course always popular with visiting couples!
The Gardens - from the front door of the Cottage, guests can walk through the picturesque grounds and colourful gardens behind the Courtyard.
Whether the guests wish to stroll amongst the grounds or sit by the pond, the gardens can be enjoyed throughout the year and are an ideal site for memorable photographs.
The Blacksmith's Cottage has been converted into a warm and welcoming room, accomodating parties of up to 16 people. Larger parties can be catered for in the more spacious Blacksmith's Workshop. The Blacksmith's also features an old fashioned Bridal Chamber, which offers the opportunity for some distinctive photography.
The Blacksmith's Shop, featuring many original items from the Courtyard's history, also has a craft shop offering a range of unusual wedding gifts and souvenirs. One of the most popular gifts is a personalised wedding document, detailing both your surname history to which the date of your wedding can be added.
The Blackmith's Linton Room holds up to 20 people. It contains John Linton's valuable marriage register with names from throughout Britain and Ireland along with the aristocracy and royalty of Europe.
