Civil Wedding Ceremony

The step by step guide to booking your Civil Wedding Ceremony performed by a Registrar at the romantic Anvil Hall Wedding Venue in Gretna.

step 1 Choose the date and time for your marriage, the registrars perform weddings Monday to Sundays.
step 2 Contact us in one of two ways:
By email or by telephone: 01461 337971
step 3 We will contact you with available dates and times.
step 4 We hold the date and time of your choice for 2 Weeks in which time you send us a cheque for £495 or telephone 01461 337971 with your credit card details. This payment is for The Anvil Hall Wedding Venue and Witnesses as required.

step 5 The fee for a Civil Ceremony performed by a Registrar at Anvil Hall, Gretna:
  • Monday to Friday - £170.00
  • Saturday - £246.00
  • Bank Holidays - £285.00

We contact the registrar to perform the ceremony.

You will receive information regarding this payment and the legal requirements in due course.

step 6 To print off the marriage notice forms M10 and get help on how to complete them click here to visit: www.gro-scotland.gov.uk and then click on 'Getting Married in Scotland'.
step 7 The two Marriage Notice Forms can be submitted up to 3 months and no later than 15 days before the wedding.

Please note: Gretna Registration Office is closed, 25 to 28 December and 1 to 4 January.
